Shandy & Payte – The Wedding

I had so much fun at this wedding. The weather was lovely, the couple in love and every detail was beautiful. It was a fun combination of a little bit country and a little bit glitz – which fits this couple perfectly. I told you that I would include a little piece of advice with my new wedding posts, so today my recommendation to brides is to have an even number of attendants. It makes posing aesthetically pleasing and complimentary in the images. I will also admit that it makes things a little bit easier on the photographer, but that would not be the only reason I tell you this…honestly!

You might recognize this venue, as it is one of the most beautiful churches in Lubbock! Be prepared. I have a few more weddings booked here, so you will definitely be seeing it again soon. Here are a couple of favorites.

Love these. So fun! The blurred image of them through the glass- so creative! Even though you’ve shot this venue before (and will again), you always find new shots and angles. Beautiful captures of a beautiful couple! Great job Amy-Rose!

Michalea & Jaime – The Wedding

I got very behind on blogging this summer and some of my weddings didn’t make it up. I was freezing this morning and thought about how much I miss the warm weather. It inspired me to put up a sunny and cheerful blog post of this summer wedding. This couple is just amazing amd they have taught me so much about God by their love and lives.

I hope you are warmed by the joy this couple shares.

Brittany & Brent – The Wedding

It doesn’t take a lot to make a wonderful wedding. In fact, as long as the couple is crazy in love then it is a perfect day. Simple, elegant details can add to the day making it extra special and they can definitely make it more fun for me as the photographer. One of my most favorite wedding details would be the bouquets. I think it is because they are rarely similar and they usually tell so much about the bride. This bride’s mother is a florist and had an expert hand in the flowers for this day. I absolutely love that they chose peonies for the bridal bouquet as we don’t get to see them very often in Texas weddings. They said that they received the last cut of peonies out of California and I am so glad they did!

I think I am going to start donating snippets of advice with each new wedding post of things that I have discovered while shooting brides and grooms. Today’s will be inspired by this bride’s attention to detail. Not many people think about the side of the body that shows when a couple is standing at the alter.. . things such as how the bride’s hair falls, how the dress shows, etc.  Brittany said that they had the seamstress remove the flowers from her dress that were originally on the left side and then sew them back on to the right side. The new placement would ensure this detail would be visible by the audience.  Lovely choice, Brittany!

Here are a few for you to enjoy!

Huge thanks to Ashley Rodgers who continues to help me survive these crazy wonderful weddings!

Beautiful work (as always!)! I’m in awe of your colors, your crisp-ness and your white balance (something I struggle with). I really like the group shots! I’m always excited when I see a new post in my blog reader (wish they were more frequent)! :)
